Dr. Aminu Hayatu

Aminu is a Research fellow at the Centre for Democratic Development Research & Training (CEDDERT), a Resident fellow at the Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), a research fellow at the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Research & Training (AKCDR&T) and, a program fellow at the AfriPeace. Aminu is a research consultant for Mc Arthur Foundation, Women Advocacy for Research and Documentation (WARDC), and Open Society Africa (OSA), among others.
Areas of interest include research, development, and advocacy on conflict and contemporary strategy, human rights, Gender, and environmental governance. He has also researched and published widely on global subjects such as fragile & and resilient communities, group strategy, conflict and peace, Ungoverned spaces, and Contentious Politics, among others. Aminu’s areas of interest include Discourse Analysis and Politics and New Media.
Samuel Indyer

He has a passion for leveraging technology to solve problems in healthcare, specifically focusing on the utilization of data, Artificial Intelligence, and software solutions. He holds an MS Health Science degree with a specialization in Global Health Systems and Innovations from the University of Maryland Baltimore and a BSc in Computer Science from Benue State University, Makurdi.
Samuel’s expertise in the biometric industry is extensive, having developed several critical solutions for the realization of the e-ID card for the Nigeria Identity Management Commission (NIMC). These include the development of the Personalization Middleware (PERM) system, responsible for merging demographic and biometric data for encoding into the e-ID card in compliance with ICAO standards, the Applet Management System (AMS) for card issuance and re-issuance based on EACv1, EACv2, PACE card protocols, and an automated identity adjudication module. Currently, Samuel works as the regional software development manager at the Centre for International Health, Education and Biosecurity at the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Medicine supporting projects in Kenya, Nigeria, Botswana, and Mozambique.
